Professor Thomas Braunbeck, University of Heidelberg – Germany

Thomas Braunbeck heads the Aquatic Ecology and Toxicology Group at the University of Heidelberg’s Department of Zoology. His team investigates the impact of environmental contaminants in rivers and lakes, and the ways in which fish populations are affected by pollutants. He promotes the use of fish embryos as an alternative to animal testing.
